Single: Mika - Ice Cream

Pochi giorni fa è stato rilasciato "Ice Cream", nuovo singolo del cantante britannico Mika.

Si tratta di un pezzo abbastanza spensierato che, se da un lato ben si amalgama con le proposte musicali del periodo, al tempo stesso rappresenta un passo indietro nella carriera musicale dell'artista.
Dopo il successo internazionale conquistato con i primi due album ("Life in a Cartoon Motion" e "The Boy Who Knew Too Much"), Mika, infatti, anche a discapito delle vendite, ha intrapreso un percorso di maturazione artistica che ha trovato una propria concretizzazione nell'album The Origin of Love del 2012 - caratterizzato da sonorità più mature e ricercate - ed è proseguito con la pubblicazione di Sinfonia Pop, album nel quale ha proposto i suoi maggiori successi accompagnati dall'orchestra diretta da Simon Lecler.
"Ice Cream", al contrario, si allinea perfettamente, per sonorità e leggerezza, ai brani dei primi lavori, rendendo quasi vano il percorso intrapreso che in qualche modo aveva elevato Mika da cantante sforna-tormentoni a distinto artista pop.
Siamo di fronte ad un pezzo piacevole, frivolo, fatto di acuti e doppi sensi, che non è certamente destinato a lasciare il segno.

Music Video: Britney Spears - "Pretty Girls"

È stato rilasciato con un paio di giorni di ritardo il video di "Pretty Girls", canzone del ritorno di Britney Spears. A dispetto di un pezzo che ha molto da invidiare ai lead singles rilasciati fino ad oggi da Miss Spears, il video non è poi così male. Diretto da Camerun Duddy e Iggy Azalea, che canta con Britney nella canzone, il videoclip, ambientato tra la fine degli anni '80 e l'inizio dei '90, è leggero, colorato, surreale, a tratti divertente. 

Britney si lascia andare in una coreografia (molto semplice), ma piacevole e ad una breve (evitabile?) parte recitata. 

Chissà che, con queste sue caratteristiche, il video non riesca a fare da traino alla canzone, che nella sua prima settimana di vita non è riuscita a raggiungere risultati importanti nelle varie classifiche.

In spite of a song that has a lot to envy to the past Miss Spears' lead singles, the video is not so bad. Directed by Camerun Duddy and Iggy Azalea, who sings with Britney in the song, the video, set in the late '80s and early' 90s, is colorful, surreal, sometimes funny.
Britney dances in a (very simple) nice choreography and acts in a (avoidable?) sketch.
Probably, with these characteristics, the music video will help the single, which in its first week of life has not been able to achieve significant results in the various worldwide charts.

Single: Britney Spears - "Pretty Girls"

Britney Spears è tornata con un nuovo singolo che anticipa il suo nuovo album studio, rilasciato probabilmente entro la fine del 2015.
Il brano del suo comeback è "Pretty girls", canzonetta dalle atmosfere urban, feat. Iggy Azalea (quasi come se bastasse far coppia con la rapper del momento per veder rilanciata la propria carriera).
Il pezzo è un po' ripetitivo e per sound ed arrangiamento scimmiotta a tratti la Gwen Stefani di "Hollaback girl".
 Ma una nota positiva c'è: il singolo fa pensare che la parentesi truzzo-dance di "Britney Jean", album passato in sordina anche a causa di una promozione inesistente, sia superata.

Britney Spears is back with a new single that anticipates her new studio album, released probably by the end of 2015.
The song of her comeback is "Pretty girls", simple song with urban atmospheres, feat. Iggy Azalea (probably Britney's management thinks that partnering with the rapper of the moment could be the solution to revive her career).
 The song is a bit repetitive and at times sound and arrangement mimics Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback girl".
There is one only positive note: this single suggests that the nasty-dance period of "Britney Jean" (album passed quietly due also to the low promotion) is now only a memory.

Album: Giorgio Moroder - "Dèjà Vu"

Grande attesa per "Déjà Vu", il prossimo album di Giorgio Moroder, non solo perché al suo interno ci saranno importanti collaborazioni, ma anche perché i due singoli già rilasciati fanno presagire che si tratterà di produzioni di notevole qualità.
Con "Right Here, Right Now", con la partecipazione vocale di Kylie Minogue, ed ancor di più con "Dèjá Vu", in cui la voce protagonista è quella di Sia, il produttore e dj italiano è riuscito a catapultare gli ascoltatori direttamente negli anni '80, senza apparire né scontato né fuori tempo.
Entrambi i brani sono vivaci, colorati, efficaci.
Se con "Right Here, Right Now", si sono assaporate le atmosfere più intime ed eleganti della disco music anni '80, il ritornello ed i cori di "Dèjá Vu" mettono subito allegria... Ed è gran festa!
L'album sarà rilasciato il prossimo 12 Giugno.

Great expectations for "Déjà Vu", next Giorgio Moroder's album, not only because in it there will be a lot of interesting featurings, but also because the two singles already released foretell that it will be a production of considerable quality.
With "Right Here, Right Now", with the vocal participation of Kylie Minogue, and even more with "Déjà Vu", in which the protagonist is the voice of Sia, the Italian producer and DJ brings the listeners directly in 80s, without appearing neither granted nor out of time.
Both songs are lively, colorful, effective.
If in "Right Here, Right Now" we can find the more intimate and elegant part of the 80s disco music, the chorus of "Dèjà Vu" immediately bring joy ... And it's a great party!
The album will be released on 12th June.

News: Becky G - "Lovin' So Hard"

Una promessa non mantenuta. Così si potrebbe definire, in poche parole, Becky G.
 Apparsa sulla scena musicale ormai un paio di anni fa, ha fatto subito parlare di sè per aver scimmiottato Jennifer Lopez con "Becky from the Block", proponendosi quasi come sua possibile erede senza averne effettivo diritto. Sono seguiti un EP ("Play It again") ed una serie di singoli, alcuni dei quali interessanti ("Shower", "Can't stop dancin'"), altri meno ("Play It again", "Hola Hola") ma nessuno veramente d'impatto. Neanche la collaborazione con Pitbull ("Can't Get Enough") è riuscita a darle la popolarità tanto attesa quanto sperata.
C'è da ammettere, però, che la cantante americana non manca di tenacia... E ci prova ancora.
Il nome del nuovo singolo è "Lovin' so Hard", pezzo, dal sound simile a quello delle midtempo anni 2000, è orecchiabile, piacevole, ma non di più.
 Apprezziamo l'impegno, ma restiamo in attesa di quella hit promessa e non ancora rilasciata.

A broken promise. So we could define Becky G. in few words.
he is on the music scene since a couple of years and she is famous more for having aped Jennifer Lopez with "Becky from the Block", (introducing herself almost as her possible successor) that for her music. She has released an EP ("Play It Again") and a set of singles, some of them interesting ("Shower", "Can't stop dancin'"), some not ("Play It Again", "Hola Hola") but no one of them really impact.
Not even the collaboration with Pitbull ("Can't Get Enough") was able to give her the hoped popularity. But we have to admit that the American singer is tenacious: she is trying once again the success.
The name of her new single is "Lovin' so Hard", a midtempo song with a sound similar to 2000s.
 It is catchy, pleasant, but not more. We appreciate the effort, but we are still waiting for the hit that she promised and never released.

Music Video: Madonna - "Ghosttown"

Sospensione di giudizio per "Ghosttown", il video musicale del nuovo singolo di Madonna, secondo estratto da "Rebel Heart".
Ambientato in uno scenario apocalittico, il video vede Madonna in forma smagliante aggirarsi per le strade di una città fantasma, ringiovanita, fiera, con molto più spazio tra i denti di quanto non ne abbia realmente, unica superstite insieme ad un uomo (l'attore statunitense Terrence Howard), con il quale si inventerà/scontrerà, ed un bambino piccolo, insieme ai quali alla fine percorrerà la strada della vita.
La fotografia del video è bellissima, ed il merito è certamente dell'esperta mano del regista Jonas Åkerlund, ma la storia, le dinamiche, l'interpretazione, l'epilogo... Tutto appare molto (troppo) artefatto, esasperato, così inverosimile che, nonostante la consapevolezza che in fondo si tratti di un video musicale, non si sa se apprezzarlo o riderne.

Suspension of judgment for "Ghosttown", the music video of Madonna's new single, the second one from "Rebel Heart".
Set in an apocalyptic scenario, the video shows Madonna in great shape prowling the streets of a ghost town, rejuvenated, fair, with more space between the teeth than she actually has, as only survivor with a man (the American actor Terrence Howard), with which she collides, and a small child, with whom she will travel on the road of life.
The photograph of the video is beautiful, thanks to the great experience of Jonas Åkerlund, but the history, the dynamics, the interpretation, the epilogue ... Everything looks very (too) artifact, exasperated, so far-fetched that despite we know that it is only a music video, we don't know if appreciate it or laugh.

Music Video: Sia - "Big Girls Cry"

Anche per "Big Girls Cry", terzo singolo estratto dall'album "1000 Forms of Fear", Sia ha pensato di legare una propria canzone alla baby ballerina Maddie Ziegler, già protagonista di "Chandelier" ed "Elastic Heart".
Presenza unica del videoclip, da poco rilasciato sul canale Vevo della cantante, la piccola Maddie Ziegler interpreta con pathos e notevole espressività le diverse sfumature del pezzo, malinconico, accattivante, a tratti cupo.
Stavolta lo spettatore non assisterà a nessuna coreografia, non c'è alcuna scenografia particolare, ma solo uno sfondo nero, un primo piano e grandi doti comunicative.
 Questi pochi, ma validi elementi dimostrano che non servono chissà quali artifici per creare qualcosa di valido.
Promossa la scelta del singolo, così come il concept del video, conturbante quanto basta per rimanere impresso e far parlare di sè.

Even in "Big Girls Cry" music video, the third Sia's single from the album "1000 Forms of Fear", the former star is Maddie Ziegler, yet present in "Chandelier" and "Elastic Heart".
The baby dancer is the unique presence in the videoclip, recently released on Vevo channel of the singer.
Maddie Ziegler plays with pathos and remarkable expressiveness the different shades of the melancholic, captivating and gloomy song.
This time, the viewer does not assist in any choreography and the set is absent; there are only a black background, a close-up of the dancer and her great communication skills.
These few, but good, elements shows that great artifices are not necessary to create something valuable.
Good the choice of the single, as good is the concept of the video, suggestive enough to remain imprinted.

Music Video: Rihanna - "American Oxygen"

Si chiama "American Oxygen" il nuovo singolo di Rihanna, il cui video è stato rilasciato in esclusiva sulla piattaforma Tidal di Jay-Z.
Il brano, che probabilmente farà parte del prossimo cd della cantante, di cui al momento sono sconosciuti data di rilascio e titolo, è diverso per struttura e stile dai due che l'hanno preceduto (l'acoustica "FourFiveSeconds", che ha fatto più notizia per la collaborazione con Kanye West e Paul McCartney che non per il plauso del pubblico, e la psichedelica "Bitch Better Have My Money", non dissimile da alcuni pezzi già proposti dalla cantante barbadiana come "Fresh Off the Runway", "Pour It up" o "Loveeeee Song", contenute in "Unapologetic").
La canzone è un omaggio all'America, luogo in cui, nel bene o nel male "si può essere chi si vuole". Nel video, semplice, ma efficace, le scene che riprendono la cantante, in splendida forma, si alternano ad immagini di repertorio che raccontano molti dei momenti della storia americana.
Il brano è introdotto dal suono del pianoforte, che sarà protagonista insieme ad un beat incessante ed un coro sinuoso, capaci di renderlo più suggestivo e d'impatto.

New Rihanna's single is "American Oxygen". Its music video was released exclusively on Tidal, the Jay-Z's platform.
The song, which probably will be part of the next singer's album, which are currently unknown release date and title, is different in structure and style from the two that preceded it (the acoustic "FourFiveSeconds", more known for the collaboration with Kanye West and Paul McCartney than for the applause of the audience, and the psychedelic "Bitch Better Have My Money", not so different from some already proposed songs by the Barbadian singer as "Fresh Off the Runway", "Pour It up" or "Loveeeee Song" that are in "Unapologetic", her previous album).
"American Oxygen" is a tribute to America, where, for better or for worse, "you can be who you want". In the simple but impressive music video, the scenes that reflect the beautiful singer are interspersed with archive images that tell a lot of American history moments.
 The song is introduced by the sound of the piano, which will be present during all the song with an incessant beat and a sinous chorus, that make it suggestive and more impressive.

News: Mika - "Talk About You"

Il quarto album studio di Mika è quasi pronto. Per ingannare l'attesa, il cantante libanese ha recentemente rilasciato un singolo fresco, allegro, spensierato: "Talk about you", che rievoca "Sarà Perchè Ti Amo" dei Ricchi & Poveri, e "Only Want To Be With You"

"Talk about you" riprende in parte le atmosfere di alcune delle canzoni di "The Origin of Love", suo precedente album studio. 

Nonostante la canzone sia di semplice fattura (le poche strofe ed il ritornello energico e ripetitivo ne rappresentano il punto di forza), questa è certamente più convincente di "Boum Boum Boum", precedente singolo interamente in francese, rilasciato qualche mese fa, troppo distante dal repertorio più interessante e ricercato di Mika. 

Mika's fourth studio album is almost ready. To kill time, the Lebanese singer recently released "Talk about you", a fresh and catchy single.

"Talk about you" reflects part of the "The Origin of Love" songs' atmosphere, his previous studio album.

Although the song is simple (the few verses and the energetic and repetitive refrain represent its strong point), "Talk about you" is certainly more convincing than "Boum Boum Boum", his previous entirely in French single, released a few months ago, too far from the more interesting and sophisticated Mika's repertoire.

Album: Madonna - "Rebel Heart"

L'ultima fatica di Madonna in poche righe? Un disco molto autoreferenziale, in parte condizionato dal leak selvaggio di cui è stato vittima.

"Rebel Heart" si configura come un cd variegato, in cui si alternano canzoni, tutte molto orecchiabili, appartenenti a stili diversi: dal dance di "Iconic", "Illuminati" o "Bitch, I'm Madonna", a ballade più suggestive ("Ghosttown", "Joan of Arc", "HeartBreakCity", "Borrowed Time") passando per l'inaspettato reggae di "Unapologetic Bitch".

Madonna parla di sentimenti, d'amore, ma anche di se stessa, del suo personaggio: non mancano, infatti, rimandi al suo repertorio (da "Vogue" in "Holy Water" a "Veni Vidi Vici", il cui testo è costituito in prevalenza dai titoli dei suoi più grandi successi) quasi a voler raccontare, sì, ciò che è, ma ricordando al mondo quello che ha costruito in tanti anni di carriera ("Bitch, I'm Madonna"), in un continuo rimando tra passato e presente. 

Irriverente e sopra le righe, Madonna non smette di provocare, scomodando, ancora una volta, la religione cattolica a proprio piacimento ("Joan of Arc", "Messiah", "Holy Water", "Devil Pray").

Sicuramente il fatto che molte delle canzoni siano state date in pasto al pubblico prima della loro uscita ufficiale da pirati informatici ha fatto correre Madonna ai ripari, che ha cercato di renderle il più possibile "inedite" e nuovamente appetibili, dando a molte di esse una veste diversa da quella iniziale. Nell'album sono presenti, di fatto, alcuni pezzi il cui taglio è differente rispetto a quello della loro versione demo (o presunta tale). 

Lo sforzo è riuscito in parte: in alcuni casi ("Joan of Arc", "Devil Pray", "Borrowed Time", "Veni Vidi Vici") le canzoni ne sono uscite quasi rinvigorite, mentre altre hanno perso un po' del loro potenziale (fra tutte "Illuminati", "S.E.X", "Rebel Heart", "Wash All Over Me").

Il risultato comunque è buono. Il cd ha tutte le carte in regola per conquistare pubblico e critica, confermando Madonna regina iconica del pop internazionale. 

Few lines to talk about new Madonna's work? A very autobiographical album, conditioned in part by the leak. 
In "Rebel Heart" a lot of very different and catchy songs are present: we can find dance ones as  "Iconic", "Illuminati" or "Bitch, I'm Madonna", but also suggestive ballades ("Ghosttown", "Joan of Arc", "HeartBreakCity", "Borrowed Time") until the unexpected reggae of "Unapologetic Bitch". 
Madonna talks about feelings, overall about love, but also of herself, of her character: there are a lot of references to her repertoire ("Vogue" in "Holy Water" and the entire lyric of "Veni Vidi Vici", that consists mainly from the titles of her greatest successes) as if she wants talk about the woman that she is, but reminding who she was and what she did ("Bitch, I'm Madonna"), in a continuous return between past and present. 
Irreverent, Madonna does not stop provocate referring to the Catholic religion  ("Joan of Arc", "Messiah", "Holy Water", "Devil Pray"). 
Surely, because of the leak of a lot of songs before their official release, Madonna still had to work on the songs, trying to make them "inedited" and more attractive.
The effort was good in part: in some cases ("Joan of Arc", "Devil Pray", "Borrowed Time", "Veni Vidi Vici") the songs are more invigorated, but other songs have lost a bit 'of their potential (among all "Illuminati", "S.E.X", "Rebel Heart", "Wash All Over Me"). 
However, the result is good. The album has all it takes to win over the public and critics, confirming Madonna as the iconic international pop Queen.

News: Marina & the Diamonds - Froot

In attesa dell'uscita del nuovo album, che dovrebbe vedere luce a dicembre, Marina & the Diamonds ha rilasciato "Froot", singolo anticipatore.

La canzone è stata scritta dalla stessa Marina, insieme al DJ Faultline, aka David Kosten.

Il pezzo alternative-rock, dalle sonorità dance tipiche degli anni '80, si allontana un po' dallo stile che caratterizzava "Electra Heart", secondo album della cantante gallese, avvicinandosi, invece, a quello più alternative del cd di esordio, "The Family Jewels". 

Waiting for Marina & the Diamonds's new album, that will be released in dicember, her new single "Froot" is available.

The song was written by Marina with DJ Faultline, aka David Kosten.

It's an alternative-rock song, with an eighties sound, far from the "Electra Heart" sound and more similar to the alternative sonorities of "The Family Jewels".

Album: Sia - "1000 Forms of Fear"

"1000 Forms of Fear", il nuovo album di Sia, è valido e raffinato.

Il cd è ricco di canzoni interessanti, coinvolgenti, saudenti. 

La cantante, che è diventata famosa per aver prodotto alcune delle più belle canzoni degli ultimi anni (su tutte "Diamonds" di Rihanna), in realtà ha un curriculum molto lungo alle spalle.

Oltre a "Chandelier", singolo di lancio dell'album (nonché migliore produzione dello stesso), spiccano tra le altre "Fire Meet Gasoline" (potente e coinvolgente), "Burn the Pages" (più fresca e radiofonica), "Free the Animal" (pop ed energica). 

La cantante australiana ha deciso di puntare tutto sulla propria voce, decidendo di non mostrare più il suo viso in pubblico (né sulla copertina dell'album, né nelle diverse esibizioni per promuovere i singoli), il che rende il suo personaggio decisamente alternativo. Mossa, però, non veramente necessaria quando per far parlare di sé basterebbe la qualità delle sue produzioni. 

"1000 Forms of Fear", the new Sia's albumm is valid and elegant. 

The CD is full of  interesting and engaging songs. 

The singer, who became famous for having produced some of the finest songs of the past few years (on all "Diamonds" by Rihanna), actually has a very long career behind. 

In addition to "Chandelier", lead single of the album (and best production of it), the most intresting songs are "Gasoline Meet Fire" (powerful and addictive), "Burn the Pages" (fresher and radio), "Free the Animal" (pop and energetic). 

The Australian singer has decided to stake everything on his own voice, decideding don't show her face in public (neither on the cover of the album, nor in several exhibitions to promote the singles), which makes her character much alternative. 

Move, however, not really necessary for an artist with her quality.

Music Video: Mika - "Boum boum boum"

Mika, che sin dagli esordi ha dato prova di grande capacità artistica, ha lanciato sul mercato un nuovo singolo, "Boum Boum Boum", che probabilmente sarà inserito nel nuovo lavoro discografico per il quale è attualmente in studio. 

Interamente in francese, si tratta di una canzoncina piacevole da ascoltare, ma che non sarà ricordata tra le hit di Mika, nè tra i suoi singoli migliori. Il testo è molto frivolo e musicalmente non spicca per originalità (sembra quasi lo stacchetto di "Veline"...).

Da un artista con la sua voce, la sua creatività e quella verve, ci si aspetta molto (ma molto!) di più. Probabilmente per farsi perdonare, però, il cantante libanese è protagonista di un video originale e ben fatto, in cui interpreta il ruolo di un play boy di altri tempi.

Mika, who since his beginning has shown great artistic ability, has released a new single, "Boum Boum Boum", which probably will be included in his new album for which currently is working. 

"Boum boum boum", entirely in French, is a nice song, but that won't remembered as one of the singer hits, or as one of his best singles. 

The lyric is very frivolous and musically the song isn't so original. From an artist with his voice, his creativity and verve, the public expects from him more (but a lot!). However, the Lebanese singer is starring in an original and well done music video, in which he plays the role of a playboy of the past.

Viso angelico, fisico mozzafiato, ma soprattutto una voce pulita, intonata e capace di virtuosismi interessanti sono gli ingredienti ideali per percorrere la strada del successo. 

Questo mix esplosivo caratterizza Ariana Grande.

In attesa del nuovo album ("My Everything", che uscirà il 25 agosto), la cantante statunitense di origine italiana ha rilasciato "Break Free", singolo in collaborazione con Zedd, suo produttore. La canzone, fresca e ritmata, si appresta ad essere uno dei tormentoni di questa estate. L'auspicio è che raggiunga i risultati ottenuti da "Problem", il singolo che l'ha preceduta, che è arrivato secondo nella Billboard Hot 100. 

Angelic face, stunning physique, but also a clear and capable of interesting virtuosity voice are the ideal ingredients for the success.

Waiting for her new album ("My Everything", that will be released on August 25th), the American singer has released "Break Free", single in collaboration with Zedd, her producer. The song, fresh and upbeat, is going to be one of the biggest hits of this summer. The hope is that it will achieve the results obtained from "Problem", the single that preceded it, which was second on the Billboard Hot 100.

Music video: Sabrina Salerno - "Colour me"

A 6 anni di distanza dal suo ultimo album, torna sulla scena musicale Sabrina Salerno. Il nome del nuovo singolo è "Colour me". Scritto da Sabrina Salerno e Mauro Lovisetto, il pezzo, dalle sonorità elettro-pop, è un po' sottotono nelle strofe, ma convincente nel ritornello.

Nel videoclip le parole del testo si sovrappongono ad immagini della cantante, che appare elegante ed in ottima forma. 

6 years after her last album, Sabrina Salerno is back on the music scene. The new single title is "Colour me". Written by Sabrina Salerno and Mauro Lovisetto, the song, that has an electro-pop sounds, it's a little 'subdued in the verses, but pleasant in the chorus. 

In the music video, the words of the lyric are superimposed on images of the singer, who looks elegant and always beautiful. 

Music Video: Michelle Williams feat. Beyoncé & Kelly Rowland - "Say Yes"

Svolta mistica per Michelle Williams. Il suo nuovo singolo da solista, "Say Yes", è, infatti, una cover in chiave pop di "When Jesus Say Yes" , brano del gruppo nigeriano Mount Zion Singers dedicato a Gesù. Per l'occasione, l'ex Destiny's Child, ha riunito il gruppo, coinvolgendo le ben più celebri Beyoncé e Kelly Rowland. La canzone, che strizza l'occhio al gospel, a dire il vero, è musicalmente accattivante e coinvolgente, così come il video. Tuttavia, il testo religioso le fa perdere tutto l'appeal.

Mystique comeback for Michelle Williams. Her new solo single, "Say Yes," is, in fact, a pop version cover of "When Jesus Say Yes", a song of the Nigerian group Mount Zion Singers dedicated to Jesus. For the occasion, the ex Destiny's Child brought together the group, involving the much more famous Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland. The song, with its gospel sound, it's musically captivating and engaging, as well as video. However, the religious lyric makes it lose all its appeal.

News: Sia - "Eye of the Needle"

In attesa dell'uscita di "1000 Forms of Fear", sul mercato dall'8 luglio, Sia ha rilasciato un nuovo singolo: "Eye of the Needle".

Non siamo ai livelli di "Chandelier", primo singolo estratto, che riesce a conquistare sin dal primo ascolto.

"Eye of the Needle" è comunque di un pezzo valido, che diventa sempre più intenso mano a mano che si sviluppa, ma che ha bisogno di qualche ascolto in più per essere pienamente apprezzato, entrare in testa e non uscirne più.

Waiting for "1000 Forms of Fear", that will be available from July 8th, Sia has released a new single, "Eye of the Needle". 

The level is not the same of "Chandelier", the first single, able to be appreciated from the very first listening. 

However, "Eye of the Needle" is a valid song, which becomes more intense with time; it only needs some more listening to be fully appreciated, get in your head and don't go more out.

E' on line il video di "We Are One (Ole Ola)" di Pitbull feat. Jennifer Lopez & Claudia Leitte, inno ufficiale dei mondiali di Calcio 2014 ormai alle porte. 
Nel video si alternano immagini tratte da partite di calcio, vedute del Brasile ed una vera e propria festa in piazza in cui i cantanti si esibiscono circondati da ballerine e musicisti.
E' un vero tripudio di bandiere e di colori, in linea con lo spirito festaiolo ed allegro del brano.

In the video we can see images from football games, views of Brazil and a true party in the square in which the singers perform surrounded by dancers and musicians. 

It's a real riot of flags and colors, in keeping with the festive and cheerful spirit of the song.

Music Video: Kylie Minogue - "I Was Gonna Cancel"

E' uscito il video di "I Was Gonna Cancel", nuovo singolo di Kylie Minogue, prodotto da Pharrell Williams e contenuto nell'album "Kiss Me Once".

La canzone è fresca e vivace, caratterizzata da sonorità funk che strizzano l'occhio alle atmosfere dance dei decenni passati.

Nel video musicale, la cantante australiana è al centro di una strada affollata da passanti, ognuno indaffarato a correre o pensare ai fatti propri, anche se, per qualche istante, tutti riescono a coordinarsi con gli altri facendo gli stessi movimenti. 

Il messaggio del video è chiaro: nonostante il nostro essere diversi e l'avere degli impegni che a volte ci portano ad isolarci, facciamo parte della stessa umanità e non mancano momenti di condivisione con gli altri. 

Una bel concept, per un video semplice, ma efficace.

The song is fresh and lively; it has a funk spirit united to dance atmospheres of the past decades. 

In the music video, the Australian singer is in the middle of a street full of passers; everyone appears busy  or thoughtful for its own problems, even if for a few moments each person is able to coordinate himself with all the other doing same movements. The message of the video is clear: despite we are all different and we have commitments that sometimes lead us to isolate ourselves, we are part of the same humanity and there are moments of sharing with others. 

A nice concept for a simple but pleasant music video. 

Music Video: Shakira "Dare (La La La)"

E' stato rilasciato oggi il video di "Dare (La La La)", secondo singolo estratto dall'album che porta il nome di Shakira e che sarà il secondo tema musicale del mondiale di calcio FIFA 2014 [in una versione rieditata dal titolo  "La La La (Brasil 2014)"].

Nel video, che è stato registrato a Lisbona nel 2012, Shakira si muove sensuale. 

Nella prima parte, un po' statica, la cantante colombiana è sola; nella seconda metà del video, invece, è contornata da un numeroso gruppo di ragazzi, creando un clima festoso maggiormente in tema con lo spirito della canzone. 

The music video of "Dare (La La La)" was released today. It is the second single from the Shakira's self-title album and it will be the second musical theme of the FIFA World Cup 2014 [in a re-worked version entitles "La La La" (Brasil (2014)"]. 

In the music video, which was recorded in Lisbon in 2012, Shakira dances sensually. 

In the first part of the video, the more static, the Colombian singer is alone; in the second half of the video, however, she is surrounded by a large group of young people, creating a festive atmosphere more adapt with the spirit of the song.
